For the summer and autumn 2004 five day tours have been arranged starting in May and continuing to October. These trips are not normally open to non-members but friends of members may accompany them when space was available on payment of a supplement to the normal members' charge. |

Winton House Pencaitland We will travel to Haddington where there will be free time for lunch and individual sightseeing in this attractive East Lothian town. Perhaps a visit to St Mary's Church. A coffee stop en route will be made at Dobbies Garden Centre. After lunch we visit Winton House which has been described as one of the finest houses of the Anglo-Scots renaissance. it is noted for its beautiful early 17th century plaster ceilings. We will be given a tour of the house followed by afternoon tea. |

Dalemain House and Gardens, Cumbria Dalmain near Penrith is a medieval Tudor and early Georgian house that has been the home of the same family since 1679. It has a wealth of period features including a Chinese Room with 18th century Chinese hand-painted wallpaper and a Tudor Room with 16th century plaster ceiling and oak panelling. The gardens at Dalmain have been much acclaimed. After leaving Glasgow we will have a coffee stop at Moffat then travel directly to Dalmain. Lunches and teas are available in The Manor House Tearoom and Licensed Restaurant. |

The House of Bruar and Megginch Castle Gardens Saturday 10 July 2004; depart 9:00am; Return 6:30pm (approximately); Cost £22 (includes tea). In the morning we travel to The House of Bruar near Blair Atholl where there will be a time for shopping and lunch. A coffee stop will be made en route at Caithness Glass in Perth. After Lunch we will visit the gardens of Megginch Castle near Errol. Megginch Castle is the home of Baroness Strange and her husband Captain Drummond. We will afterwards have afternoon tea in the Castle. |

The Falkirk Wheel and The House of The Binns Saturday 14 August 2004; Depart 9:30am; Return 6:00pm (approximately); Cost £22. We will travel directly to Falkirk for a trip on the Falkirk Wheel, the world's first and only rotating boat lift. This will last approximately 45 minutes. Coffee/tea and lunch are available at the Falkirk Wheel Cafe. In the afternoon we will visit The House of The Binns, the family hole of the Dalyell family. THis property is owned by the National Trust for Scotland. We will be given a guided tour. We propose after the visit to stop at Linlithgow for tea. PLEASE NOTE THAT NUMBERS FOR THIS OUTING ARE RESTRICTED TO 40 AND THAT THE FALKIRK WHEEL IS NOT CONSIDERED SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY DIFFICULTIES. |

Autumn Colours Tour - West Perthshire We are repeating this leisurely tour which we have enjoyed in the past and which will give us the opportunity to see the countryside in its autumnal splendour. We will stop at Aberfoyle for morning coffee then continue to Killin which is our lunch stop. Before returning to Glasgow, in the later afternoon, we will stop at Crieff Hydro where tea/coffee etc. can be obtained in their cafeteria. |
